Los Angeles, CA - Don O'Melveny presents the Los Angeles solo exhibition of
Scott Miller during the month of November. Miller's work has been lauded by
many leading art critics who have named him an abstract expressionist and
have described his paintings as original, compelling, provocative,
psychological, futuristic, and spiritual.
Miller's paintings reflect a unique and natural observance of the basic
shapes of the universe. His work is absent from sensible realities and
compels us to regard it purely as paintings and nothing else. His paintings
have nothing to do with representation or imitation or reproduction of other
works. They evoke basic naturalistic subjects and expresses nature with a
distinctive style.
His works are in the permanent collections of The Playboy Mansion, Poet
Allen Ginsburg, The Carnegie-Mellon Museum, and The Cleveland Museum of Art.
His paintings have also been collected by many leading professionals
including CEO's, politicians, private investors, choreographers, and
investment bankers.
Widely shown within his home state, Miller has presented in countless shows
and group exhibits outside of Ohio in states such as New York, California,
Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania and in countries like Canada and Japan. His
oil on canvas shows include: The Cast Iron Gallery, Soho, NY, The Akron
Museum of Art, Akron, OH, The OBOE Gallery, Cleveland, OH, Gallery 8 Santa
Monica, CA, Weller/ Potosky Gallery, Toronto, Ontario, and many more
galleries throughout the US.
Mr. Miller has is a graduate from The Cleveland Institute of Art (Bachelor
of Fine Arts 1983) and The Cooper School of Art (Fine Arts 1978). Before
graduating from the Cleveland Institute, he exhibited at the Cleveland
Museum of Art in 1981 and became the recipient of the museum's painting
prize the following year. Throughout 1985 and 1986, he earned special
mention at the museum's May Show. He then continued to present his paintings
at various galleries throughout Cleveland.
