Grandes Ondes. Morellet will illuminate the Place du Palais Royal every evening, creating a new talking point in the daily lives of the Parisians, visitors and tourists who pass through this central neighbourhood of the capital. His installation reawakens the building's architecture and engages it in a full and lasting dialogue.
The Société Foncière Lyonnaise celebrates the third edition of its art event “Mémoires Contemporaines” with the installation “Grandes Ondes” (Great Waves). By giving François Morellet free rein to express his vision on one of the most beautiful assets in its real estate portfolio, SFL is pursuing its commitment to modern creation, an engagement on a city-wide scale that is aimed at everyone who walks the streets of Paris.
This artwork by François Morellet will illuminate the Place du Palais Royal every evening, creating a new talking point in the daily lives of the Parisians, visitors and tourists who pass through this central neighbourhood of the capital. His installation reawakens the building's architecture and engages it in a full and lasting dialogue.
A landmark with an ideal location, “Grandes Ondes” is an artwork that is simultaneously minimalist and full of meaning, fragile and warm, a beacon of light that transforms the urban landscape of Paris.
The Société Foncière Lyonnaise, which owns the building, is delighted to have been able to mediate this encounter between François Morellet, a major artist, and the Louvre / Saint-Honoré, a cradle of history and culture.
