Margaret Lee (b. 1980) lives and works in New York.
Lee has exhibited works and organized exhibitions at numerous venues including;
Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include; Margaret Lee / Emily Sundblad, at Off
Vendome, (Dusseldorf), and MLMH: Margaret Lee/Matthew Higgs, (Murray Guy, New
York). Other recent exhibitions include; Home Again, Again II, Journal Gallery (Brook
lyn), The Time Machine, curated by cura magazine, Frutta Gallery (Rome) Parasitic
Gaps, curated by Miriam Katzeff, Team Gallery (New York) and New Pictures of Com
mon Objects, curated by Christopher Lew, MoMA PS1. The artist was featured in the
recent 12th Lyon Biennale.
She founded the artist run space 179 Canal in 2009 and is currently a partner in the
gallery 47 Canal.
Lee was recently selected by Beatrix Ruf and Peter Eleey as the re
cipient of the 2012 Artadia NADA prize and named was named one of Modern Painter’s
24 artists to watch in 2013.
This is the artist’s second show at the gallery.
