Galerie Voghera, Manosque

In Manosque, a famous spot in French Provence, galerist Paul Matheron-Tourre presents a solo show by pol.knots with recent paintings and some objects. The Belgian artist is developing his abstract quest underlined by a rather simple grid of reading. A relation of tension appears between ambiguous forms and lines in a kind of antagonism between individual intentions and uncertainty. These random and organized constructions are sustained by mixed media and techniques where thickness is joining transparency and where the paste proves to be glacis. As for the colours, they go from dark red tones to the softest of the spring yellows. The artist is mixing materials, ancestral pigments and henna, wood tint and Chinese ink. In Manosque, one will see, in addition, some object made by the visual artist based on carbon fibre.
Buttressed black stems are echoing to the contrasted canvas.

The Voghera gallery was created during 2002 and follows an eclectic line based on nonconformist modernity.

pol.knots is a 55 years old visual artist originated from Belgium and living in France. He considers himself as a gardener in the Garden of Utopia, installed somewhere between Taoism and cognitive science. He is a founding member to aRT+sCIENCE. His last solo show was conducted in Louftémont, Belgium, October 2003. In 2004, after the Voghera Gallery, pol.knots will have his next solo in Valenciennes, France, March 2004.
