Atlante. Combinando pittura, disegno e fotografia Verney esplora come gli esseri umani utilizzano vari modi per orientarsi nel'universo.
SACI Alumn, Jon Verney is busy in the studio preparing for his upcoming exhibition in the SACI Gallery, Atlante.
Jon Verney received his BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston in 2010, and afterwards continued his studies at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. His experiences at SACI as a Post-Baccalaureate student (2010-11) and later as a graduate teaching assistant (2011-12) have had a profound and lasting effect on his work. Inspired by a range of subjects spanning from Italian Baroque painting, astronomy and physics, Verney’s practice deals with converging and diverging cosmologies. Combining painting, drawing, and photography he explores how humans use various methods for orienting themselves within the universe.
John is simultaneously preparing for a two-person exhibition with SACI’s founder, Director Emeritus Jules Maidoff, Two Americans, Two Generations, in Porto, Portugal, opening on May 31, 2014. John will begin his graduate studies at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art in the Fall of 2014. He was born and raised in New Salem, Massachusetts.
