Sometimes I come, sometimes I go, but which is which, I don't know...sometimes I am, sometimes I'm not, but which is which, I forgot. One morning the artist stored all her things in her cellar. Now she reconstructs this cellar compartment, hauling all of her possessions into it: her entire life.

Cavallo a dondolo, bambole, bicicletta
guidato fino a Roma.
cantina ricostruita a Rosenheim.

One morning, as Sandra Hauser was waking up from anxious dreams, she
cleared her apartment in Munich and stored all her things in her cellar: rocking horse, dolls, children’s bike, tree trunks, exercise books, clothes, drawings, stage props, photos, projects, finds... putting them away in that narrow
room, locking it and driving to Rome.
“At 18 I went to work at the theatre in Munich, and as I didn’t have my parent’s
house anymore I had to make a decision: Throw it away or take it with you. One
day I decided to say “goodbye” to all the “Taken-With-Me” things, to my entire
life, for a while.” In her exhibition titled “Sometimes I come, sometimes I go, but
which is which, I don’t know... ... sometimes I am, sometimes I ́m not, but
which is which, I forgot” - which opens on 3rd July 2014 at 19.00 h, in the Kunstverein Rosenheim (Germany) - Sandra Hauser reconstructs this cellar compartment, hauling all of her possessions into it: her entire life.
In the course of the exhibition, the packing and depositing becomes an unpacking and laying-out, whilst the process of forgetting and archiving becomes a remembering and projecting. During the preparation of the exhibition the cellar in
Munich emptied itself and the reconstructed cellar in Rosenheim filled itself up.
In the course of the opening and during the exhibition the cellar at the Kunstverein empties and the exhibition space fills itself. During the exhibition the past will
be aired out and will be conceptualized.
Sandra Hauser, born in 1983 in Bad Aibling (Germany), completed an education
as a stage and costume designer from 2002-04. She studied philosophy and art
history at the Ludwigs-Maximilian_University in Munich and sculpture and installation in the class of Professor Stephan Huber and Hans Op De Beeck from 2006–14. In the winter of 2011/2012, she was the assistant of Hans Op De Beeck.
Her exhibition at the Kunstverein Rosenheim is – after participations in numerous
exhibitions, amongst others in international museums and institutions – her first
solo show and is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science
and the Arts, the LfA Bank of Bavaria and the Deutsche Bank Privat- und Geschäftskunden AG.
