A thematic exhibition with Leyla Aydoslu, Adriano Costa, Liesbeth Doms and Herman Van Ingelgem. The various works have their taste palate and highlight the different ideas and backgrounds of the artists.
DASH invites you to the grand opening of the group show ‘The Cook’. A thematic exhibition that is part of the Interieur Extra program with four artists from Belgium and abroad.
The selected artists: Leyla Aydoslu (DE), Adriano Costa (BR), Liesbeth Doms (BE) and Herman Van Ingelgem (BE).
The artist as a cook, the studio as a kitchen and artworks as appetizers.
The menu for this exhibition is both simple and complex. The combined works of the four artists make links with the interior in the broadest sense of the word. The various works have their taste palate and highlight the different ideas and backgrounds of the artists. The exhibition wants to make the connection to the studio of the artists. A dialogue around the iconic video of Martha Rosler 'Semiotics of the Kitchen' from 1975 brings us to different questions, concerns and insights on the studio of the artists.

DASH is an in-between space for Contemporary Art in Kortrijk. At the core of our program we choose one theme or artist. This will stay visible during all our projects for one season. With this approach we want to create a returning reference point for discussions, questions and propositions. Under the wings of the Academie Kortrijk we want to translate learning- and research methods into a fresh and associative curatorial model. DASH’s dynamic program includes exhibitions, workshops, lectures, screenings and other events. Some projects will last only a few hours while others will stay for many weeks. Hereby all generated interpretations will stay liquid, renewed and constantly questioned. Because we strongly believe that Art is part of the learning process and is a starting point to knowledge.
DASH challenges artists and spectators with projects who demand dedication, participation and imagination.
