The John Downton Award for Young Artists is an annual exhibition which encourages and celebrates the creativity of Kent's young artists.
It is open to students, aged 11 - 18, from schools and colleges across Kent. Examples of their painting and drawing submissions will be exhibited at County Hall, Maidstone from 29 October to 26 November 2014. A selection of works will then be shown at the Turner Contemporary between 2 December 2014 and 4 January 2015.
This award is hosted by Kent County Council on behalf of the John Downton Trust. The exhibition commemorates the life and work of John Downton, the celebrated Kent artist, poet and philosopher.
