Hong Kong Arts Centre will present 2014 flagship exhibition titled “Unseen Existence: Dialogues with the Environment in Contemporary Art”. Special Event:
Silent Walk by Ang Song Ming

Silent Walk is a group exercise in which participants each take five minutes to lead the group, choosing to walk in any direction he or she chooses. During the walk, participants switch off their mobile devices, keep silent and listen to the sounds of their immediate environment. The walk finishes when the last person in the group has taken his or her turn to lead the group. Since its debut earlier this year at Institute of Contemporary Arts (Singapore), Silent Walk has been presented at Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), Lehrter Siebzehn (Berlin), and Le6b (Paris). It charms audiences with its simple invitation to open the ears. By asking us to pay attention to the sights and sounds around us, a casual activity can well be turned into a magical experience.
