The renowned Swiss Art Awards are back and warming up for 2015! The call is open to all artists, architects, as well as art and architecture mediators of Swiss origins, or who are based in Switzerland. The Swiss Art Awards exhibition is part of Switzerland's oldest and most renowned art competition. The competition was first held in 1899 as a selection process for scholarships to study abroad. Over time, it has evolved into a prestigious national prize competition which presents a selection of current works of the Swiss art scene on an annual basis. The Swiss Art Awards exhibition is organized by the Federal Office of Culture and is one of the highlights celebrated during Art Basel. For the international expert audience gathering every year in Basel, the Swiss Art Awards provides an excellent opportunity to obtain an overview of the latest highlights of Swiss contemporary art, architecture and mediation on the basis of a selected cross-section.
