The 10th edition of Art in Redlight is to take place from 27 through 30 December in the Amsterdam Beurs van
Berlage. At this beautiful location, Art in Redlight’s anniversary edition connects passion and public. With ample
space for visual art, photography, video, light installations, design, music, dance and debate. At this multidisciplinary
arts festival, Art in Redlight presents more than 150 idiosyncratic and creative artists.
At the ‘hippest arts festival in Amsterdam’ as Art in Redlight was called in the Uitkrant (Amsterdam’s ‘What’s
on’-magazine), there will be lots to see and do by the end of this year. For four days, artists and public will be able
to meet and challenge each other, at this dynamic cross-over festival. This year, Art in Redlight expects to receive
around 11.000 national and international visitors.
Art in Redlight is an independent arts festival in which the artist functions as the centre of all activities. This was
the starting point of Art in Redlight’s first edition in the Oude Kerk in the middle of Amsterdam’s red light district,
and it remains that way for this anniversary edition at its new location in the Beurs van Berlage. The annual art fair
supports and promotes the artists and connects them with a wide audience, ranging from enthusiastic art lovers
and beginning collectors to art experts and experienced collectors. In doing so, Art in Redlight, as a non-profit
organisation, aims to improve the position of artists, playing a unique and necessary role in the Dutch art world.
Art in Redlight offers a platform for talent: we are proud to see that our talents from previous editions, such as Jan
Hoek, Eva Spierenburg, Brian Coutinho, Papa Adema, Katerina Belkina, Midas Zwaan, Rotganzen, Marjan van Aubel,
Harm Weistra, Airco Caravan, Meiya Lin, Marcel Pinas and Gijs van Bon, have gained recognition in the art world. Will
the great new talent of tomorrow be among the 2014 artists? From 27-30 December everyone will be able to discover
the new Dumas or tomorrow’s Van Gogh - at the Beurs van Berlage.
