'Waves' with its point of origin from one of nature's most foundamental movements, brings together Turkey's most prominent new media artists and their works on science, art, and technology.
“Waves” exhibition, with its point of origin from one of nature’s most fundamental movements, brings together Turkey’s most prominent new media artists and their works on science, art, and technology. Sound waves; light waves; brain waves; financial fluctuations; and the tides of our daily lives…
Transitions of waves; flows of liquid assets and siphons, the thresholds between perceptions of reality and virtual reality, convolutions of a worm and contortion, memory pockets and dementia attacks, thread through fields such as acoustic-visual ecology and data streams.
All these are the various fragments of the daily life we live in… The Waves exhibition focuses on the life-shaping nature of micro-movements and micro-mutations… It calls the viewer to recognize the way in which every minor movement effects and transforms the other. This exhibit aims to unfold to design, and to create a different movement of affectivity in the world of somnambulated and banalized perceptions and actions.
Curated by sociologist and new media art theoretician Ebru Yetişkin, the exhibition is being installed at BLOK art space’s gallery in Çukurcuma, and at a building under construction on Faik Paşa Avenue.
During the exhibition, talks on the conceptualizations of waves from the perspectives of physics, architecture, ecology and sociology; as well as various live performances; will be taking place every Saturday at 5.30 pm.
