L'infini du geste. Over 600 works on paper
This summer, the Musee Jenisch Vevey pays tribute to Ferdinand Hodler (1853-1918) with the exceptional collection donated in 2014 by Rudolf Schindler (1914-2015), which includes over 600 works on paper. The exhibition presents the very best of these previously unseen pieces, tracing Hodler's entire career while also shedding light on the collector's unconventional approach. Showcasing the richness and diversity of Hodler's oeuvre, it documents the artist's creative process and reveals the key role played by drawing, as well as his extraordinarily detailed studies of form, rhythm and expression. It treats the viewer to a look behind the scenes of Hodler's workshop and pays homage to the Swiss artist as well as to a collector who was anything but ordinary.
