In the depths of our crater lake, all is silent… represents a moment and an occasion of confrontation and of reflection around the idea of place and of the relationship existing between the exhibition space and the artwork. The show has been conceived as a dialogue between 18 artists, belonging to different generations and cultural references.

The selected artworks include a wide variety of expressions pertaining to contemporary Indian creativity- from painting to photography, from video to sculpture and installation. Exhibiting the unconventional, experimental and interdisciplinary working styles of the artists, the collection celebrates the exciting developments that have characterized contemporary Indian art in recent years.

Borrowed by one of Parul Thacker's exhibited artworks' title, "In the Depths of our crater lake, all is silent…" enables the viewer to first discover and then to delve into a multidimensional and always personal journey, where each and every work engages with a specific shade of grey, moving from the mental space to the geographically demarcated one, and from the emotional one to the space of control, just to name a few.
