This 42nd edition of the fair will present 172 galleries from 23 countries.
Widely recognized for its excellence, the Lafayette Sector, a program launched in 2009 by FIAC and the Groupe Galeries Lafayette, Official Sponsor, underlines their joint desire to provide ongoing support to the actors of the emerging art scene in its international dimension. The Lafayette Sector provides financial aid to 10 French and international galleries presenting emerging artists, selected by a jury of specialists.
FIAC's privileged partner Swarovski will unveil the inaugural commission of the Swarovski Series, a program created to support artists using crystal as a creative medium. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain", a stunning new work by Los Angeles city-based artist Wu Tsang, incorporates almost 250,000 crystals and will be exhibited on the Balcon d'Honneur of the Grand Palais.
OFFICIELLE
The new FIAC event
The second edition of OFFICIELLE opens its doors at the Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design from 21 to 25 of October. The opening will take place on Tuesday October 20. Welcoming 69 exhibitors from 17 countries, OFFICIELLE features galleries whose programming bears witness to a particular aptitude in deciphering the many facets of contemporary creation, oscillating between revelations and reminiscences within a constantly widening world theatre. With twenty-three solo exhibitions on the programme and forays into little-known or unexplored arts scenes, OFFICIELLE's watchword is discovery.
