We asked six various artists to cooperate on the Czech Made Project: Anatolij Osmolovskij (Russia), Liam Gillick (GB), Monika Sosnowska (Poland), Oliver Musovik (Macedonia), Roman Ondak (Slovakia) and Swetlana Heger (Germany). We asked them to create an instruction in form of text, image or other medium, giving directions to produce a particular work of art.

We asked six various artists to cooperate on the Czech Made Project: Anatolij
Osmolovskij (Russia), Liam Gillick (GB), Monika Sosnowska (Poland), Oliver
Musovik (Macedonia), Roman Ondak (Slovakia) and Swetlana Heger (Germany). We
asked them to create an instruction in form of text, image or other medium,
giving directions to produce a particular work of art.
Based upon this instruction, we searched for volunteers in the Czech Republic
who would be willing to realize the artworks. The artworks were then made by
the following co-authors: Dusan Zvara, Frantisek Bastar, Mario Chromy, Jiri
Thyn, Linda Urbanková, Vasil Artamonov, mother with child from Prague and
Jaroslava Skalova.
The realization of the project took four years, which was a bit longer than we
expected. Therefore, some of the works created for this purpose had already
been made by the artists themselves or had been exhibited at other occasions.
In spite of this, we decided not to ask the artists for new artwork
instructions.
pas (producation of contemporary activities) was founded in Prague in 2000 by
Vit Havranek, Jiri Skala and Tomas Vanek. It’s goal is to initiate, produce
and organize projects searching for new types of interaction between
contemporary life and art. Pas has carried out a series of installations by
contemporary artists in showcases originally used for political agitation
(showcases in Prague, Ostrava, Ceske Budejovice, Plzen, Moscow, Stuttgart),
project Videotrip (Royal College of Art, London), paspress (Palais de Tokyo,
Paris) and a series of artists stickers in cooperation with the magazine
Umelec (The Artist).
Pas also publishes a periodical series of posters called NEOSAMIZDAT in its
edition called paspress.
