To coincide with Belgian National Monument Days, the group show « This is not a home, this is a house » will be presented at l'Observatoire. In addition to its four artist directors, l'Observatoire has extended an open invitation to ten European artists to use the monument of Maison Grégoire as a site to present relatively small but key works that arbitrate the notion that the architecture of a house is not necessarily a place of habitation. Maison Grégoire, built by Henry van de Velde in 1933 as a private house, now also operates as l'Observatoire public gallery. On this occasion the home/house/monument becomes the host to a range of works that will fill the already furnished residence into an architectural "cabinet de curiosité".
open Saturday 2 - 6 pm and by appointment
(also open for National Monument Days on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September 10 am - 6 pm)
