comunicato stampa

Rembrandt's astonishing etchings and drypoints have been avidly collected since the day they were made, and the British Museum in London and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam have built up over the past two centuries the greatest of all collections of these celebrated rarities. For the first time the highlights of both collections will be joined to give a complete panorama of Rembrandt's achievements as a printmaker, from their beginnings around 1630 until his death nearly forty years later. The exhibition, the most ambitious of Rembrandt's prints ever mounted, will show almost 200 impressions of his prints, together with related drawings and oil-sketches. It is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue by Martin Royalton-Kisch of the British Museum, Ger Luijten of the Rijksmuseum and Erik Hinterding of Utrecht University.

There will be an admission charge for this exhibition.
