Romantic Detachment
Chapter Gallery, Cardiff
The exhibition brings together road trips, films, performance, tea, hero-worship, discussions and music to explore the collisions and intersections between the ideals of European Romanticism and an alternative grass-roots Romanticism, the dialogue between a Euro-centric tradition and a new world vision. Over forty artists will be involved in the exhibition.
UK and US all black dinner parties, a play about good and evil performed by
blind actors, blood puddings made from the artists' blood, a recording
studio and shop, a print office, Rock, Soul and Tapioca, a documentary film
in which all participants are murdered, a comic about art and spiritualism,
and a live comedy link up from a British village pub...
'Romantic Detachment' brings together road trips, films, performance, tea,

Romantic Detachment is a Grizedale Arts project that has been curated in
collaboration with PS1 New York.
