Within Our Walls. Group show

Bringing together artwork from Charlotte’s most prominent collections, Trizec Properties continues to support contemporary art in their annual exhibition at Bank of America Plaza.

‘WOW – Within Our Walls’, the 6th Annual Art Exhibition curated by Joie Lassiter at the Bank of America Plaza, highlights some of the best contemporary artwork from the collections of The Mint Museum of Art, the McColl Center for Visual Arts, and the Andreas H. Bechtler Collection.

Much as in any other city, great or modest, the visual arts in Charlotte are subject to vacillations and vagaries. However, the identity of a city is vitally linked to its visual arts. Good public art on the streets and in the atria spills into the public consciousness of the people, inspiring us. Rather than reducing art to a minor league player, we hope our leaders will cue the people of Charlotte to the inherent importance of allowing art to continue to blossom during our growth. Within our own city “walls” we find ourselves at a place where great art and architecture can come together to make our city significant. Trizec Properties has facilitated this in the 2005 exhibition by hosting this unprecedented exhibit.
