Artist's performance is a paradoxical reflection on the analogies between the physiology of the digestion and the economic system through which it's possible to observe the movements and the changes of the global political system. The performance is a collective action, but the same participation becomes in this case a private action, a gesture that introject an object inside the body of everyone of the participants and transforms it in a work.

Cesare Pietroiusti’s performance is a paradoxical reflection on the analogies between the physiology of the digestion and the economic system through which it’s possible to observe the movements and the changes of the global political system. The performance is a collective action and involved other persons, practical often used by Pietroiusti in the realization of his works, but the same participation becomes in this case a private action, a gesture that introject an object inside the body of everyone of the participants and transforms it in a work.
To share one banknote from 100 €, to break it in equal parts and to swallow it. To start to the inner digestive process, to leave the body identify the banknote piece as an element from which it cannot gain nourishing substances and expels it.
To recover the piece of banknote from the faeces.
To re-unite, with the transparent scotch, all pieces until reforming the 100 €, to which it has been added the value of the inner elaboration of every person.
To introject
To gulp down
To digest
To expel the economic system - of which the artist is part – after to have made it own... intimately.

1.60 insurgent space is the name of a space that move itself continuously inside the cities, producing exhibitions whose intent is to put to comparison international artists with various places, different from the "institutional ones", in order to create new arguments around the art and its borders. This is the sixth of a series of nine exhibitions programmed in Tirana, from January until September, curated every month by Stefano Romano and a different curator each time.
