Le opere d'arte presentate in "Sold out - Svenduto", sesta edizione di More Fools in Town, si collocano nella dimensione intermedia fra oggetti che non possono esser venduti e opere che non sono oggetti.

L'idea di questo progetto è stata ispirata in diverse maniere dalla riflessione sul lavoro di Cesare Pietroiusti, ad esempio quando l'artista ha prodotto delle stampe originali, firmandole ma specificando, con una clausola, l’assoluta perdita di valore dell’opera in caso di vendita a terzi. Altra fonte d’ispirazione è stato il lavoro di Tino Sehgal, nelle performance …vendibili ai collezionisti che però acquistando non ricevono niente, nessun’opera, nessun oggetto ne certificato.

Cosa crea valore? Può un valore creato dall’esperienza artistica sfuggire la sua condizione di bene commerciale? Esiste la possibilità di un spazio “altro” in cui creare un diverso tipo di esperienza?

More fools in town è una collaborazione di Charlotte Laubard, Jacqueline Riva + Geoff Lowe. More fools in town organizza mostre ed eventi in un appartamento nel centro di Torino in modo responsivo e impulsivo nel tentativo di raggiungere un pubblico più vasto. Si tratta di un'energia lo-hi che interagisce con grandi traguardi.

The #6 edition of More Fools in Town

Works by Gabriel Lester, Douglas Ross, Tyler Rowland, Gabriele Di Matteo, Massimo Grimaldi, Jordon Wolfson, Katya Sander, A Constructed World, Olivier Babin, Cesare Pietroiusti, Mike artist collective, Ylva Ogland and Konst2/Tensa Konsthall with Reala

The #6 edition of More Fools in Town, "Sold Out", will focus on artworks that lie in the space between objects that can’t be sold and works that have no object.

The idea for this project really comes, somewhat, from thinking about the works of Cesare Pietroiusti, where he has made prints that are signed but then inscribed with a text informing the owner that if they sell the work his signature will be ineffectual and the work will be worth nothing at all. And on the other hand the work of Tino Sehgal, performance works acted out by a performer, that can be bought by the collector, who in effect, receives nothing for the work - no object, no certificate.

What creates value? Can value created by the experience of an artwork escape commodification? Is there any space to generate another kind of experience in an alterior space?

More Fools in Town, a collaborative project of Charlotte Laubard, Jacqueline Riva + Geoff Lowe, presents exhibitions and events in an apartment in the centre of Turin in a responsive and impulsive way that seeks a wider audience. It is a lo-fi, lo-hi energy interface with big aims.
