The artist presents her work
From the one to the many, the many to the one,
Kika Thorne's work shifts readily from
portraiture to civic intervention. Often acting
collectively (SHE/tv, Pleasure Dome, October,
February, April groups, fabricator, Open Party,
anarchist free school, RAG, C-SIDE),
collaboratively with fellow Torontonian Adrian
Blackwell, or on her own. Thorne plays in a
diversity of material: film installation, single
channel video, slide or poster narrative, floor
sculpture, group action, intimate conversation,
experimental pedagogy, radical television,
utopian architecture.
