Paper is a survey of contemporary work by artists who use paper not merely as a support for paint or pencil, but as a sculptural medium in its own right. The participating artists all push the boundaries of this highly flexible and readily available material, and prove that paper can be both delicate and durable.

What results is an art of dazzling technique  some works exhibit a remarkable ability to emulate objects we would not otherwise associate with such an ephemeral medium, while others relish the exceptional formal variety that can be achieved with a material we take for granted everyday. Works featured in the exhibition will utilize the Museum's sculpture garden as well as traditional exhibition space, and artists represented will include: Kathleen McShane, Jyung Mee Park, Ester Partegà s, and Steven Siegel.
