October opening of the Portland Art Museum's North Building and the new 28,000 square foot Center for Modern and Contemporary Art (CMCA). Housing over 400 works, including the Museum's Clement Greenberg Collection of mid-20th century art, the CMCA will present a broad spectrum of media in a survey of modern art, and feature the only museum galleries north of San Francisco and west of Chicago dedicated solely to photography. The opening is the climax of a 10-year master plan for the rebirth of the Museum's 2.5 block campus.
