A show curated by Christophe LeGac
"For the past forty years, artists got the desire for sub-contracting a great part - often even the totality - of the technical realization of their works. From an idea, from a concept, the artist looks for the tools, and especially the know-how for the concretization of his piece. This attitude becomes increasingly common at the beginning of XXIth century.
The artist's status in our society has evolved: he is not anymore this cursed character as Van Gogh. Using and diverting all the potentials he finds the artist becomes a leader, an architect, where formulating the idea and the manufacturing process are not made in solo but with the assistance of many people. So no wonder if the new bible for many artists are the yellow pages."
