Solo show. The exhibition will contain a number of recent works on paper, a suite of steel wall reliefs as well as a new dybond work. Each piece hides nothing, obscures nothing, and lays everything right before you, pattern and variations, materials and emptiness.
Solo show
curated by John Carter.
We are delighted to announce the forthcoming exhibition of recent works by the Hartmut Boehm. The exhibition will showcase a selection of recent sculptures, drawings and installations by the Berlin based artist. The show is on view until April 23rd at the gallery's Notting Hill Space.
In a recent statement the artist notes: My works deals with the visible and the conceivable. The conceivable is thereby nothing speculative and inexact outside of the system, but rather is a part of it and necessarily follows as part of the aesthetic logic: a furthering of the constructive thinking about a conceptual dimension.
The exhibition will contain a number of recent works on paper, a suite of steel wall reliefs as well as a new dybond work. Each piece hides nothing, obscures nothing, and lays everything right before you, but still his peculiar mix of rigorous order and ever-shifting fluctuations, pattern and variations, materials and emptiness, activates the whole space and winds up being downright cathartic.*
Bohm has exhibited globally since the early 1960s. Works by the artist are currently also on view at the Hunter College Gallery in New York as part of the Presentational Painting III exhibition as well as the Tokyo Opera City Gallery in the DaimlerChrysler Collection in Japan exhibition. Recent solo shows include the 2004 exhibition at the Beardsmore Gallery in London with Klaus Staudt, an exhibition curated by the British artist John Carter.
