In the Shadow of the (Non-existent) Museum: mapping the Polish art world Jaroslaw Suchan. In Poland, institutional framing of artistic activity was hardly ever of any interest and contesting the gallery has always been a marginal phenomenon. The destructive role of institutions was hardly understood by the public and artists, even in the face of work/actions that deconstructed the gallery system.
