ANDLAB presents: Saturated Palette, a group show including work by Pete Goldlust, Julie Hughes, Thomas Pathe' and Sharon Suhovy.
This exhibition features sensually and intellectually engaging painting, sculpture and installation. The work is distinctly saturated, borrowing color from natural and synthetic sources existing as hybrid states.
Thomas Pathe' appropriates color from familiar elements that have an intimate relation with the body originating from products and substances sentimental to the artist.
Pete Goldlust creates sculptural landscapes alluding to an array of visceral human urges, resulting in slightly recognizable forms. Julie Hughes’ paintings reflect an amalgam of medical drawings and decorative pattern. The biomorphic installation of Goldlust and Hughes explores the gray area between the natural and synthetic. Sharon Suhovy extravagantly extrudes elements of Baroque and Rococo to create colorful ornamental frames addressing the framework as the masterpiece.
