KETTY LA ROCCA &
BERNARD HEIDSIECK
Curated by Fabienne Leclerc et Jacinto Lageira.
Even though its supporters continued--and “sound artists” continue still--to build links to the
plastic or visual arts, what came to be known as visual and sound poetry (integrated into the avant
garde movements of the 20th century around 1913) was already overshadowed by the time of World
War II.
The works of Ketty La Rocca and Bernard Heidsieck, some of which are on show here, join in that
practice of mixed media using drawing, collage, music, text, recordings and even performance.
The gallery In Situ aims to explore some of these interconnections in contemporary plastic arts
through this exhibition and two more to follow.
