Linda Nochlin is the Lila Acheson Wallace Professor of Modern Art at New York University's Institute of Fine Arts. Her revolutionary essay, "Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists" (1970) was significant for introducing a feminist perspective to the field of art history and criticism.
