1. Mostra de Curtmetratges de Vilafranca (MCV) is an annual event organized by Cine Club Vilafranca. The sixth edition of MCV will take place from 16th - 24th November 2001.
2. Films may participate in the following MCV
2001 sections:
a) Selecció Oficial: fiction or documentary
shortfilms, 29 minutes duration at most, in
screening format 35mm or 16 mm.
b) Secció d'Animació: animation shortfilms,
drawing cartoons, 3D or any other technical
mode, 29 minutes duration at most, in
screening format 35mm or 16 mm.
c) Pantalla Oberta: fiction, animation or
documentary shortfilms, in screening format
Betacam SP or VHS (PAL), produced by cinema
academies or independent production
companies.
Shortfilm directors must be from Spain or the
production shooting must have been in Spain.
3. MCV awards are:
- Jury Award to the best shorfilm in Selecció
Oficial: 300.000 ptas.
- Public Award to the best shorfilm in Selecció
Oficial: 250.000 ptas.
- Jury Award to the best shortfilm in Secció
d'Animació: 100.000 ptas.
- Jury Award to the best video shortfilm in
Pantalla Oberta: scholarship in a production
company and the screening of the shorfilm on
catalan TV.
4. The jury keeps the right to declare any
award void.
5. All shortfilms submitted for selection must
have been completed after january 1st 1999.
6. To inscribe at MCV you must send a VHS
(PAL) copy of the shorfilm, the entry form with
the material asked and a print of the director's
DNI, pointing out the category where you register
the shorfilm.
7. The submision deadline is september 15th
2001. The participant must take financial
resonsability for the safe arrival of the preview
tape.
8. Video preview tapes will not be returned and
will remain in the MCV archive. MCV can use
these images for promotion and press
information.
9. MCV will select the finalist, that will send the
shorfilm in its original screening format. The
shortfilms must be in good condition and the
reels or tapes sent must be identified as well.
Any shortfilm in bad screening condintion will be
ruled out.
10. Sending and return expenses will be on MCV
charge.
11. MCV and jury decisions will be unanswerable.
12. Participation in MCV implies acceptance of
the above mentioned regulations.
