Flexibilidad Ceerea

In the space of Galería BECH, each architectural edge will be marked with black tape. The following procedure will follow in the edges of the pillars, as well as in the walls. Thus, the space will take on an aspect of a drawn space, just as in the map attached in the rules and regulations. At the same time, and taking the same referent, each wall will have written on it the number of its measurement, just as it appears in the map. These will be painted with stencils, using masks that imitate the font featured in the map (Paz, they will be in cardboard, so the walls won't suffer any damage).

At the same time, in the walls of the space there will be a series of three paintings, measuring 90 x 100 cms. each. They will have drawn and hand-painted texts, forcing the imitation of the Arial Narrow font, as present in the gallery's rules and regulations. Likewise, the texts of these paintings will be extracted from the rules and regulations, and consist of the following phrases: the proposals with best creative qualities; that they be viable; that they adjust to the curatorial line of Galería BECH. These phrases are the ones present in the call for entries that defined what type of works would be selected by the committee for the 2007 season.
Thus, the works exhibited sustains itself on the basis of an amplification of the docility that many artists must assume, with the only purpose of accessing a venue to exhibit work. Such docility is taken to the extreme; that is, to literally obey the implicit demands of the exhibit's call for entries.

The forthcoming catalogue will feature texts by the curators Antonio Arévalo and Rodrigo Alonso.
