Perhaps better titled "uncommon objects," the exhibition brings together a collection of paintings and drawings depicting various items, ephemeral and otherwise, by an assortment of artists. A feather, flowers in a water glass, a tea cup, a taxidermic squirrel, "doorknocker" earrings, a lightbulb, something resembling foldout postcards, a telephone cord lost in a sea of swirls, and so on. Perhaps some very enterprising person's purse has spilled out. The cat burglar? Where are the house keys?
Perhaps nothing so private as a house is involved here. The commonness of an object, or the object of commonness, something material or objective, a common goal, a discrete entity... It doesn't matter. The artwork exists as an object in itself.
