Taking Liberty/Usvajanje
Slobode is a cultural
exchange between
members of the
Mobius Artists Group
(MAG) and artists from
Istria, Croatia. The 16
artists will work
individually and
collaboratively,
responding and
interacting with the
sites, the people, and
the culture, both foreign
and native. The new
works, live works and
visual-installation
pieces, will be created
by MAG members: Jed
Speare, Landon Rose,
Marilyn Arsem,
Margaret B. Tittemore, Meredith Davis, Milan Kohout, Nancy
Adams, Yin Peet and Croatian artists: Aleksandr Garbin, Alen
Floricic, Danino Bozic, Pino Ivancic, Robert Sosic, Sanja
Svrljuga Milic, Silvo Saric, Tomislav Brajnovic.
Exhibitions are being held at both the Fort Point Arts
Community Gallery, March 10-April 14, and at Mobius, March
29-April 15 (closing reception, April 7, 7 pm). Site-specific
works in many media, including performance, sound art,
visual, and media arts, will take place in Boston at: South
Station, corner of Atlantic Ave. and Summer St., March 29-30
and April 5-6, rush hour; Fort Point Channel Midway Street
and the parking lot off Necco St., April 2, all afternoon ; and
Harbor Park at the U.S. Courthouse, Northern Avenue, April
6-7, 3-7 pm
