Phyllis Plattner

Solo Show. Artist lives and works in Bethesda, just outside Washington. She has lived for extended periods of time in the city of San Cristobal in Chiapas, Mexico, and also in the Tuscan countryside between Florence and Siena in Italy. Her experiences living abroad have had a profound impact on her art, feeding and shaping its evolution. Her current work combines images of little woolen dolls made in Chiapas, representing the Zapatista guerrillas from the recent indigenous uprising there, with Italian renaissance gold leaf religious painting. Opening at 17.30
