Daniele Bordoni

Tooks Chambers, London

Daniele Bordoni was born in Italy in 1974 and studied at the Fine Art Academy in Bologna. Bordoni’s work deals with the relationship between nature and human structures. Using painting, drawing and video he both unites and contrasts architectural elements with their natural surroundings. Executed with an instinctive graphic form the works are not concerned with social comment but abstract sensations.

In the space at Tooks Chambers Bordoni presents ‘Outcrop’, chosen from the last two years work, featuring two series of paintings, Evo and Sinapsi. Evo is a project created in ink ‘paintings’ on canvas where cold architectural spaces are produced using an automatic writing technique in which the paintings are completed in continual lines. In Sinapsi nature becomes his primary subject and oil his medium. These coloured sensual structures are marked by contemporary synthetic limits and make reference to electronic elements creating a tension between order and disorder

Bordoni has had solo and collective exhibitions in Stuttgart, Sarajevo, Madrid and Milan. Recently his works have been shown as part of the MyLand project, San Miniato, Italy. His last solo show, ‘Evo’ (Epoch), curated by Luca Beatrice was shown at Antonio Battaglia Arte Contemporanea, Milan 2007. His work is currently on show in Ancona, Italy in ‘Arrivi e partenze Italia’ a collection of Italian contemporary artists under the age of 35 curated by Alberto Fiz. The work of Daniele Bordoni is in public and private contemporary art collections such as Fabbrica Borroni (Milan), Collezione Merloni, Clifford Chance Italy.
