La galleria A arte Studio Invernizzi inaugura giovedì 15 maggio 2008 una mostra personale di Ulrich Rückriem nella quale saranno presentati i più recenti disegni dell’artista.

Saranno infatti presentati disegni appartenenti alle serie ''Blocks'', fondati sulla iterazione progressiva di un modulo ortogonale, accanto alle ''Constellations'' (in positivo e in negativo) e ad altre inedite più recenti realizzazioni, che esemplificano invece dinamiche proiettive diagonali le cui configurazioni sono in parte legate dal suo percorso creativo degli ultimi anni, incentrato sulle possibilità di permutazione e variazione delle collocazioni di otto quadrati o rettangoli neri su una scacchiera di otto quadrati o rettangoli per lato. Generati da ulteriori possibili elaborazioni grafiche della medesima matrice strutturante, questi disegni, sempre a partire dall’ipotesi di permutazione su una scacchiera, sostituiscono all’assertiva configurazione ortogonale altre più variate dinamiche diagonali.

In mostra sarà inoltre esposta un’opera sintesi della precedente esposizione realizzata da Rückriem nel 2006 in questo medesimo spazio, costituita dalla sovrapposizione di una serie di disegni su acetato raffiguranti le 92 possibilità di disposizione di 8 colonne su una scacchiera composta da 8 quadrati per lato che spostate in orizzontale, in verticale e diagonalmente, non s’incontrano mai, ma restano isolate nello spazio, racchiusi in un box di vetro che crea un ''unicum'' tra progettazione, disegno e scultura.

La mostra esemplifica un momento particolarmente significativo dell’opera dell’artista tedesco, i cui principali elementi compositivi si ripropongono anche in questo caso come quelli della permutazione e della variazione secondo un procedere che dal materiale porta all’immateriale e viceversa.In occasione della mostra verrà pubblicato un catalogo bilingue con le riproduzioni delle opere presentate in galleria e un apparato bio-bibliografico.

Ulrich Rückriem nasce a Düsseldorf nel 1938.
Nel 1964 tiene la sua prima mostra personale alla Domgalerie di Colonia e nel 1969 espone alla Galerie Konrad Fischer a Düsseldorf.

Negli anni Settanta gli vengono dedicate mostre in diversi musei quali il Museum Haus Lange a Krefeld, la Kunsthalle Tübingen, lo Städtische Museum Abteiberg a Mönchengladbach, la Frankfurter Kunstverein, il Museum of Modern Art di Oxford, lo Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum di Eindhoven e il Kunstmuseum Bonn.
Negli anni Ottanta e Novanta realizza grandi mostre in importanti spazi pubblici, tra cui il Centre Georges Pompidou di Parigi, il Westfalisches Landesmuseum a Münster, il Kröller-Müller Museum a Otterlo, il Palacio de Cristal al Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia a Madrid, la Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus di Monaco di Baviera e lo Stedelijk Museum di Amsterdam.

Nel 2004 la Neue National Galerie di Berlino e lo Stiftung Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum di Duisburg gli dedicano una mostra personale.Nel 2007 viene invitato a realizzare due mostre personali al Museum Ludwig di Colonia e al Sprengel Museum Hannover di Hannover.

On Thurdsay 15 May 2008, A arte Studio Invernizzi gallery presents a solo exhibition of Ulrich Rückriem, where his most recent drawings will be on display.
Drawings from the ''Block'' series, founded on the progressive iteration of an orthogonal module, will be presented together with the ''Constellations'' (both positive and negative version) and other new and more recent realizations, which exemplify diagonal projective dynamics. Such configurations are partly connected to his last creative path, centred on the possibilities of permutation and variation of the placement of 8 black squares or rectangles on a chessboard of 8 squares or rectangles per side. These drawings are generated by further possible graphic elaborations of the same structuring matrix: always starting from the hypothesis of the permutation on a chessboard, they replace the previous assertive orthogonal configuration by different and more varied diagonal dynamics.

Another work on display is the synthesis of the last exhibition realized by Rückriem in this same space in 2006, and it is created by superimposing a new series of drawings on acetate paper that show the 92 possibilities of displacing 8 columns on a chessboard composed by 8 squares each side. No matter how the columns are moved - horizontally, vertically, or sideways - they never meet, but remain isolated in the space: contained in a glass box, they create an ''unicum'' of design, drawing and sculpture.
The exhibition exemplifies a particularly meaningful moment in the German artist’s work: his main compositional elements, such as permutation and variation, recur also in this case, proceeding from the material to the immaterial and ''vice versa''.

On the occasion of the exhibition a bilingual catalogue will be published including photographs of the works on display in the gallery and bio-bibliographical notes .

Ulrich Rückriem is born in Düsseldorf in 1938.
In 1964 his first solo exhibition takes place at the Domgalerie in Cologne and in 1969 he will expose at the Konrad Fischer Galerie in Düsseldorf. During the 70’s several Museums, like the Museum Haus Lange in Krefeld, the Kunsthalle Tübingen, the Städtische Museum Abteiberg in Mönchengladbach, the Frankfurter Kunstverein, the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford, the Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum of Eindhoven and the Kunstmuseum Bonn, dedicate exhibitions to him.
