Einschmelzen (meltdown). Recent paintings. While in appearence and painting terms Peter Busch's works are more reserved, Katharina Immmekus' rapport with the medium is altogether louder and more direct.
The exhibition »meltdown«, shows pictures that Peter Busch and Katharina Immekus have painted together over the last six months. "Together", here, meaning joint decisions over motifs, sizes of canvasses, who paints what and finally whether the end results satisfy.
The artists are long time friends and colleagues. All of their individual works clearly distinguish them from each other. While in appearence and painting terms Peter Busch's works are more reserved, Katharina Immmekus's rapport with the medium is altogether louder and more direct. In spite of this they come together with a shared interest eg: a landscape or a subject and from that they have an apparently uncomplicated understanding of what it is that is interesting for them to paint.
When one is familiar with the individual work of these artists, it is not hard to imagine how a Busch or an Immekus exhibition might look. In this case the exhibition is of a third person, namely Busch/Immekus, one with whom they have both developed a great affinity.
