Con l’esposizione The Perfectly Superfluous Art of Collecting. La Società del Sentimento il CACT mette in mostra opere da collezioni private, ribadendo la necessità di coinvolgere collezionisti o collezioni nelle attività di un’istituzione museale pubblica o privata. UQesto per quanto riguarda soprattutto le ultime tendenze dell’arte contemporanea.

A tale proposito è stato fondato il mACT museo d’Arte Contemporanea Ticino, che si pone l’obbiettivo di incentivare tali rapporti, evidenziando così l’esistenza di un fermento, anche se ancora troppo latente, alle nostre latitudini. Il mACT è inizialmente un concetto di istituto che non ha una propria collezione, ma che si impegna, affinché vi si organizzino mostre tematiche con il contributo di collezionisti. E’ il primo importante passo verso la creazione di un museo per l’arte contemporanea, che – così come è impostato – non intende perdere le grandi opportunità curatoriali, parallelamente alla rilettura storica dell’arte.

With the exhibition THE PERFECTLY SUPERFLUOUS ART OF COLLECTING. LA SOCIETÀ DEL SENTIMENTO, the CACT is showcasing works from private collections, reiterating the need to involve collectors and collections in the activities of every museum institution, whether public or private. This approach is especially apt with regard to the latest trends in contemporary art.

This is the purpose behind the establishment of the mACT museo d’ARTE CONTEMPORANEA TICINO_TICINO museum of CONTEMPORARY ART, whose declared aim is to encourage relationships of this kind and, as a result, highlight the existence of a ferment, albeit one that is still too latent, at our latitudes. In this first phase, the mACT is a concept for an institute that has no collection of its own, but is committed to bring about the organisation of thematic exhibitions with the contribution of collectors. This is the first significant step towards the creation of a museum for contemporary art whose organisational model is indicative of the fact that it does not intend to miss out on the great curatorial opportunities arising in parallel with the historical reinterpretation of art.
