GLASGOW SCULPTURE STUDIOS (GSS) is a unique centre for research, production, presentation and the dissemination of contemporary sculptural practices.

GSS celebrates its 20th Anniversary with the unveiling of its new premises and the launch of their exhibition programme.

Its new gallery space opens with Beagles & Ramsay's GOOD TEETH, the result of a three month Production Residency at GSS, the first in their new rolling programme of Production and Research Residencies.

PRODUCTION RESIDENCIES are aimed at contemporary visual artists, who are working nationally and/or internationally for whom a change of scenery might offer fresh inspiration; offering the artist/s a dedicated studio and access to all Artists Facilities and Artists Support Programmes with a view to realising a major project or body of work that is disseminated as part of the Public Programme in the gallery.

RESEARCH RESIDENCIES support a writer, scholar, academic, curator or researcher working nationally and/or internationally, to support existing projects and the development of new ideas over a sustained period of time. This residency format is key to GSS' commitment to enabling the dissemination of contemporary sculptural practices and creative exchanges between visiting resident practitioners and in-house artists as well as the public.

AHM Ainsley Harding Moffat
Sam Ainsley, David Harding & Sandy Moffat (AHM) three of Scotland's key cultural figures were selected as the recipients of a two-year Research Residency at GSS.

It is recognised that individually all three have contributed enormously to the development of Glasgow's status as a leading centre for contemporary art, to the city's cultural life in general and as promoters of Scotland's art and culture around the world over the past 25 years.

AHM is dedicated to working with other individuals, groups and institutions locally, nationally, and internationally, who wish to make a significant contribution to the cultural and political life of Scotland.

AHM acts as a catalyst by providing platforms for Scotland's vibrant community of artists to develop their artistic practice, whilst enhancing understanding and awareness of the relevance of contemporary artistic practice to national cultural identity, with the intention of directly influencing the Scottish Government of the vital importance of the arts to our society. AHM

This two year residency will support the development of ideas and initiatives culminating in a series of events and an inter-related partnership programme with Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), in 2010.
