The prize which honor artists who have made important contributions to contemporary art, but have not been fully recognized by the world at large
Omi International Arts Center presents the Francis J. Greenburger Awards 2008, which honor artists who have made important contributions to the fields of contemporary art, but for one reason or another have not been fully recognized by the world at large. The prize were launched and have been presented seven times since its inception in 1986. The 10.000 USD Award will be given to each of the individual artists by the jurors who have selected them: Joan Jonas selected by Tom Healy, Mel Kendrick selected by Brice Marden, Helen Levitt selected by Arthur & Carol Goldberg, Sylvia Plimack Mangold selected by Rhona Hoffman, Sturtevant selected by Kim Levin.
