Laboratory 99 is pleased to present its second exhibition in Shanghai, opening November 22nd, at 16:00 o’clock, and running through December 22nd at 50 Moganshan Lu, Building 7, Floor 1.5

Laboratory 99 is an art gallery in Shanghai, dedicated to promoting artists and housing special projects that support and promote the artist’s research. We believe that art begins with the artist’s willingness to discover and promote new ideas and new languages. A Laboratory is where scientists conduct research and perform experiments -- where man looks into the future and at the world’s individual and collective development. Likewise, Laboratory 99 invites artists to undergo research, shape new ideas and experiment new artistic processes. It’s a space where, through trial and error, artists may innovate and create.

This show involve four artists (Ding Shi, Li Lei, Zhou Changjiang, Zhang Hao) who has been always working with abstract art through dots, lines and colors. Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which exists independently of visual references to the world. Each artist has developed a way and a personal feeling who is expressed through an exploration of ''Shape and Lines'', ''Form and Color'', '' Movement and Ideas.'' Chinese Abstract Art has almost twenty year history but the fact that most people do not understand Chinese abstract art is the main reason for the disorder of Chinese abstract art market.
