La protagonista della terza parte di “Perché Napoli?” è Ylva Ogland. Per tutta la durata della mostra, l’artista userà lo spazio espositivo come un peep show. L’ingresso in galleria sarà negato a chiunque e l’unico modo per esperire la mostra consisterà nel guardare attraverso il buco nel centro di un pannello che rappresenta il confine tra due* universi: realtà e rappresentazione. Nello spazio, Ogland continuerà la sua serie dal titolo “Xenia”, che ha una diretta connessione con la celebre Canestra di frutta di Caravaggio. Giorno per giorno, queste nuove versioni di Xenia saranno posizionate di fronte allo spioncino, dando all’intera percezione di questo progetto un valore profondamente legato al concetto di voyeurismo.

Inoltre l’artista inviterà la sua gemella riflessa Snöfrid, la quale a sua volta abbraccerà una serie di altre identità, rendendole parte del progetto. Nello stesso modo il cui Ogland servirà motivi sessuali sotto forma di frutta e fiori – via Xenia – Snöfrid servirà le seguenti identità: T293 verrà presentata sotto forma di un logo sul muro che divide realtà da rappresentazione. Lucie Fontaine verrà messa al muro mentre Snöfrid farà di lei dei ritratti. Anche l’emblema di Fruit and Flower Deli apparirà sulla parete quale rappresentazione della seconda tappa di un’Odissea, partita a Stoccolma e che continuerà a Vilnius, Shanghai, Tokyo, Berlino, Milano, Londra e altri luoghi, che verranno annunciati dall’Oracolo di Fruit and Flower Deli.

Ylva Ogland vive e lavora a New York. Il mondo è la sua tavolozza • Fruit and Flower Deli è una galleria che parte da New York e approda in ogni continente. È il vascello dell’Oracolo la cui presenza è protetta da un Custode. Tutte le volte che c’è Fruit and Flower Deli, significa che c’è un giaciglio per David Adamo, Julieta Aranda, Judith Braun, Jota Castro, Rainer Ganahl, Nicolás Guagnini, Tracy Nakayama, Trong Nguyen e Karin Schneider • Snöfrid è la sorella gemella riflessa di Ylva Ogland, vive negli specchi e ama i pancake con sciroppo allo zucchero di canna. Di tanto in tanto appare nel mondo reale sotto forma di vodka.

“Perché Napoli?” è un progetto di T293 legato alla città di Napoli. Sei appuntamenti concepiti da sei artisti per lo spazio di Piazza Amendola. Il ciclo si concluderà con la pubblicazione di un libro, a cura di Lucie Fontaine, presentato durante l'inaugurazione finale. Il Progetto "Perché Napoli?" è stato organizzato grazie al sostegno di Paul Thorel.

Ylva Ogland is the third artist invited in “Perché Napoli?”. Over the duration of the show the artist will transform the exhibition space into a peep show. Nobody will be allowed to enter the gallery. The only way to experience this show will be by looking through the hole placed in the center of a wall that represents the border between two universes: reality and representation. Inside the space Ogland will continue her series “Xenia,” directly connected to Caravaggio’s eponymous Still Life with a Basket of Fruit. Each day these new versions of “Xenia” will be placed in front of the peephole, shaping the perception of the entire project with a profoundly voyeuristic overtone.

The artist will also invite her mirror twin sister Snöfrid to embrace a series of other identities as part of the project. Ogland serves sexual motifs in the form fruits and flowers via Xenia, while Snöfrid serves the following: T293 will be presented as a logo on the wall that divides reality and representation. Lucie Fontaine will be on the wall while Snöfrid portrays her portrait. The Fruit and Flower Deli emblem will also appear on the wall, representing the second stop of an Odyssey, which started in Stockholm and will continue to Vilnius, Shanghai, Tokyo, Berlin, Milan, London and other places to be announced by the Oracle of Fruit and Flower Deli.

“Perché Napoli?” is a project by T293 for the city of Naples. Six chapters conceived by six artists for the exhibition space located in Piazza Amendola. The project cycle will conclude with the publication of a book, edited by Lucie Fontaine and presented during the final opening. "Perché Napoli?" is additionally supported by Paul Thorel.
