The show focuses on the question where abstraction is generated from. Traditional concepts of abstraction, rooting in an artistic method or approach, are replaced by abstraction developed from various realms of conception, without abandoning realistic forms completely.
From January 27 till March 7, 2009, Galerie Martin Janda is showing the group exhibition Dark Side of the Moon with works by Benjamin Butler, Matt Connors, Svenja Deininger, Milena Dragicevic, Sébastien de Ganay, Michael Hakimi and Christian Hutzinger.
The show focuses on the question where abstraction is generated from. Traditional concepts of abstraction, rooting in an artistic method or approach, are replaced by abstraction developed from various realms of conception (like science, the media, daily life or daily objects), without abandoning realistic forms completely. The title – Dark Side of the Moon – is supposed to enable a different view on the more mysterious and darker side of the world and human existence.
