Alessio Liberati (born 1970 in Cagliari, Italy) is a visual writer. Visual poetry is his field of action on the artistic, critical and didactic plane. He has a scientific background (physics, complex networks) and an artistic self-formation (he was on the editorial staff of Erbafoglio, a review of poetic culture, in the ' 91 and from 2000 to 2004; today he is editor of the Erbafoglio website). Since 1991, he has constructed a personal style of writing through various artistic forms: kinetic calligrams (Chromodynamic Poems), works of Visual Poetry (12 Visual Poems between Earth and Sky), concrete poems (in Lotus Poems), poem-objects (Aurora condensata, Spuma letteralemente, 1998), interactive poems (Random Verse Generator, 1998), kinetic poems in booklet format, in pps format and video (the Place of Utopia, Breath in Loop).
He also creates - since 2002 - visual web-poems, especially for international artistic movement against the war. He had contacts (Erbafoglio, 2002) with some of historic artists of Poesia Visiva movement - Eugenio Miccini, Stelio Maria Martini, Mirella Bentivoglio - and collaborations with Luca Maria Patella and with the islamic calligrapher Gabriele Mandel. In 2005 he founded www.cinegrafica.it - a website of art and cinema - and its archives of visual poetry.
