Looking Forward, a public artwork by Michael Counts begins April 5th.

Enormous Projections of hundreds of New Yorkers will gaze over Brooklyn and Manhattan Skylines historic clock tower in Dumbo.

Who: Michael Counts, maverick visual artist, who with his company GAle GAtes et al., has created exciting and controversial installations inhabited by performers that have electrified New York audiences over the last six years.

Beginning with 90 Degrees, then Wine-Blue-Open-Water, Field of Mars, Tilly Losch, 1839 and last year's hugely successful So Long Ago I Can't Remember, Counts and his company have entertained and challenged theatergoers, art lovers, music buffs and fans of sheer spectacle with his multidimensional works that take audiences places they have never been before. The New York Times called Michael Counts, "A mad genius."

What: Projections of the faces of hundreds of New Yorkers emanating from the historic clock tower in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The four fourteen foot high clock faces on the 16th floor of the waterfront tower will be transformed into giant video projection screens from which the faces of hundreds of New Yorkers will gaze out onto New York in all directions. The faces will include parents, children, firefighters, relief workers, performers, artists and countless others watching over this city in this unique time of rebirth and renewal.

When: Beginning Friday, April 5th and every evening afterward from dusk to dawn and continuing through Sunday, May 5th.

On Friday, May 3rd, Looking Forward will go one step further and provide an outlet for voices of hundreds of New Yorkers as well. Together with radio station WFMU (91.1 FM) listeners will be able to hear what the people in the clock tower are saying. WFMU will broadcast the voices of the New Yorkers on the clock tower set to an original score, which will be synchronized with the clock tower images.
