In exile from the mineral kingdom. Un nuovo progetto dell'artista norvegese. Una riflessione sugli utensili realizzati dall'uomo per l'uomo, sulla produzione industriale, sulla "cerimonia" dell'uomo che si approccia ad un utensile con le sue istruzioni, seguendole alla lettera.

La galleria Alessandro De March presenta per la prima volta in Italia il nuovo progetto dell'artista norvegese Ida Ekblad (1981, Oslo ).
Ekblad presenterà una serie di nuovi lavori creati appositamente per la galleria.
Siamo circondati da utensili prodotti da e per tutte le persone. I prodotti industriali che compongono il paesaggio urbano rappresentano la volontà sociale, imbottigliata e impachettata; ci parlano della nostra integrazione e della nostra posizione nella società. Gli uomini si rivolgono a noi tramite il silenzio e la presenza di questi prodotti che rappresentano ingiunzioni, raccomandazioni, a volte domande o spiegazioni. Un nuovo strumento porta con sè un nuovo gesto descritto in un manuale di istruzioni che ci viene consegnato insieme all'oggetto e quando compiamo quel gesto per la prima volta, pratichiamo una cerimonia.
Dal momento in cui l’uomo utilizza un nuovo cavatappi, o l’ultimo modello di apriscatole, si tuffa nel sottile cuore della società perchè tramite lo strumento viene raggiunto dal produttore, dal mercante e dal giurista, che deliziosamente gli danno consigli, suggerimenti, comandi. Gli uomini comprano oggetti per l’amore dell’uomo, per il piacere di sentire risuonare la voce predicante dello specialista nella solitudine delle loro abitazioni, delle loro vite: gli utensili ci nascondono dalla nostra desolazione.
Gli utensili non riecono però ad esercitare il loro potere di comando o divieto su un’elemento disintegrato quale è Ida Ekblad, individuo errante e vagabondo.
L'artista sarà presente all'inaugurazione. (Ale ma si scrive ancora che ci sarà l’artista?)

For the first time in Italy, the Alessandro De March gallery presents a new poject by the norvegian artist Ida Ekblad ( 1981, Oslo).
We are sorrounded by utensils which have been manufactured by and for any man. The industrial products that make up the urban landscape are the social will bottled and canned; they speak to us of our integration in society; men address us through the silence of these products; they are injunctions, recommendations, sometimes questionings or explainations; a new tool is the reverse of a new gesture.
The gesture is described in a leaflet of instructions that we are given with the tool; when we perform it for the first time, we are engaging in a ceremony: the just man who uses a new corkscrew or the latest type of can opener plunges into the fine heart of society, perceives, through the object, the manufacturer, the merchant, the jurist, who advise, suggest, command delightfully. It is out of love of man that man buy gadgets, for the pleasure of hearing the seremonizing voice of the specialist ring out in the solitude of their apartments, of their lives; tools veil from us our forlornness.
Tools have nothing to command or forbid to the disintegrated, vagabond element, the wandering individual who is Ida Ekblad.
