Signs of summer

Artamo Gallery, Santa Barbara

In a rotating show over summer Artamo Gallery presents fresh works by artists Janet Bothne, Michael Kessler, Elana Kundell, Hyunmee Lee, Michael Moon, Julia Pinkham, and additionally Peggy Ferris as guest artist.

With this show we also introduce and welcome to Artamo Gallery established abstract artist Tamar Kander, who was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and grew up there and in South Africa, where she received her B.A. in Fine Arts with Honors at the University of the Witwatersrand and was awarded a Scholarship for Best Art Student. After a six-month artist residency in Italy, she studied at the University of London, England, finishing with a Masters in Fine Art, followed by the printmaking program at the Art Student¹s League of New York, 1984­87. She lives and works now in Nashville, Indiana. In the last two decades her work was shown in many solo exhibitions in the Midwestern U.S. and can also be found in the collections of many of the museums in that region.
