The Heritage. Solo show
In his piece „The Heritage“ Emanuel Geisser nurtures a landscape in collage-like overlaping fragments over the surface of the window display. The image seems to hark back to a panorama of a certain place, with the gaze of the viewer wandering through different levels, withdrawing themselves from one perspective, due to an uncertain geography, which remains in an unreal imaginary world.
Like traces or references to occurences relateing to that place, certain points of the image are localized through lines and geometrical forms, which denote, that it could be somehow about a defined or investigated territory. An arrangement of circles, which appear like a survey system, perforate the mountain, accord a prospect to the inside of the window display, refering to an event that could have happened here; a secret, which slumbers within this place.
In „The Heritage“ these elements fuse with those of the landscape (depicted beside the two figures within the image of the invitation card) into a sort of alchemical equation, that refers to the unattainable and mysterious aspects of nature and the influence of sensuous experiences on the subjective perceptions of the world.
